    Description

    These are extremely old.  While you are only buying what is pictured...in general the ones I am selling are around 100 years old.  PLEASE SEE THE PICTURE OF THIS SILK PATCH (don't know if is really a patch, as it has no patch backing) AS THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF THE ONE YOU ARE BUYING. Most have a very approximate measurement of 3" by 2".
    They are not cloth patches like most I am selling.
    These are called "tobacco silks" or "cigarette silks" & are frequently made of Satin.
    From what I gather (and I am open to new information) these were a "premium" put out by a tobacco company around 100 years ago (possibly starting in 1911 and carrying on through World War I).
    Very, very old antique silk patches like this are fun to see and hold...knowing you have a piece of history in your hand.
    The condition is as pictured.  Some have more fraying than others.  Please see the picture.
